Senior Citizens Council of Delhi - Talk on Joint Replacement
A special talk on Joint Replacement by Dr. B.Nadkarni Sita Ram Bhartia Hospital is arranged on National Doctors' Day at Recreation Center, Green Park Extension on July 1 2018, in the presence of more than 100 senior citizens. The talk was very useful, affirmative and appreciated by all present. He gave a few tips to keep their health fit even without taking medicines. For joint and knee problems, he advised all to consult doctors regularly after the age of 50 years and above. Refreshments were served.
Legal Matters
With the personal initiatives of Ms. Geetanjali Goel, ADJ & Special Secretary, Delhi State Legal Services Authority, one advocate from DLSA Saket Court has been visiting regularly for rendering free consultations on Legal Matters, on every Tuesday from 2 pm to 4 pm with effect from 12-06-2018. Many members have discussed their problems with the advocate and are satisfied with their valuable advice. So far, Sankalp Bhatt and Anuj Agarwal, Advocates have already visited the Center on their turn as assigned by DLSA. While thanking Ms.Geetanjali Goel, J.R.Gupta, President says that more and more members are coming forward to avail this facility at their door steps. Such consultations are very helpful to sort out minor disputes in the society amicably on the advice of Advocate.

Awareness Meet on Income Tax Problems
An awareness meeting about Income Tax problems has been conducted by the Association in their office in Vijayawada. Sri Rao stressed on the need of payment of income-tax to the govt. without fail and towards building the nation in a progressive way.
Senior Citizens Forum, Nizamabad
The Forum assisted a poor family to obtain an amount of Rs. 1,00,116/- from Kalyana Lakshmi fund from Telangana Govt. to be able to perform the marriage of their daughter. The Forum also provided “ Mangal Sutra’ and ‘Mattelu’ (Silver rings for toes) to the bride, and food provisions worth Rs. 4,000/- to the family.
During their visit to the rural areas to propagate the Forum’s aims and to render services, they have counseled some members in the village Nadkuda in the district and formed a senior citizens association with an adhoc committee with Sri. Mahabub Nagar Senior Citizens Forum
Mahabub Nagar Senior Citizens Forum has sent a letter on 18/07/18 to their MLA Sri. Srinivasa Goud to use his good offices with the RTC in order to run city buses in the Town. They along with D.V.M. Mahesh, further met the Regional Manager, RTC, as the public, mostly the students and the poor people in the town are facing much inconvenience from the auto drivers. They wanted that the conductor should ensure that the two seats reserved for the senior citizens are effectively used by them. The Forum was led by the General Secretary Sri. N. Naga Bhushanam along with Sri. G. Pandurangaiah, Sri. V. Raghupathi Rao, Sri. Gara Jayaram, Sri. B. Balaiah, Sri. A. Raja Narsimhudu, Sri. Gangadhar, Sri. Gopalakrishna Arya, Sri. Suryapet Dist. Senior Citizens Welfare Association, Kodad
The Senior Citizens Welfare Association, Kodad held a meeting on 10.07.18 at Ravoor Village, presided over by the District President Sri. R.Seetharamaiah and distributed about 800 note books to students of Z.P. High School and primary School on the occasion of 10th Vardhanti of his daughter late Smt.T.Karunasree. Sri.G. Narsaiah, President of Kodad Dist. has organized the event supported by Sri.K.Vidyasagar, T.Rambabu, M.Basavaiah and others along with the schools staff.

Nalgonda Senior Citizens Welfare Association
The Senior Citizens Welfare Association has arranged a free mega medical camp in association with Care Hospital, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad on 6 July 2018 at Vasavi Bhavan, Nalgonda. Specialists Dr. Pradeep (Cardiology), Dr. Aditya (Orthopedic) and Dr. Y. Ajay have examined the patients. Test like B.P., Blood Examination, ECG, 2D Echo were conducted on the patients. A large number of patients, about 500 have utilized the facility. The camp has been organized under the leadership of Sri. S.Mallikarjun and attended by Sri. Cholleti Prabhakar, IAS (Retd), Dr. A. Ch. Pulla Rao, Vasavi Club Chairman Sri. N.Venkateswarlu, Lions Club President Sri.B. Surender and others. It was concluded by Sri. G. Sudarshan Reddy, Gen. Secretary of the Association.

Federation of Senior Citizens Organisations in A.P. (FESCAP)
In connection with FESCAP activities, the state co-ordinator Sri. S. Karunakar has visited Chirala, Vetapalem in Prakasam Dist., Bapatla in Guntur Dist. and met the district representatives of FESCAP, Sri. A.S. Ranganayakulu, Sri. B. Srinivasa Reddy, Shaik Khaza Nazeem Mohiddin (Nellore), Krishna Simha Varma, Seetha Ramaiah, V. Anka Babu and apprised the developments in the organisation.
The local Anada Vrudha Saranalayam, Neelakanta Puram, Silon Colony, old age home at near Vetapalem in Prakasam dist. was visited by them and had interaction with inmates about the existing facilities. Satram Malleshwar Rao, Vura Mastan Rao, Visveshwar Rao, Subba Rao and others have assured their support for the improvements.
Additions to the Executive Body
In the meeting held on 24th July at Hyderabad, some additions are made to the FESCAP Body for the year 2018-2020, after due consultation with the respective districts of Andhra Pradesh. The honourary president, Dr. Rao Chelikani, General Secretary, Dr. M. Nagaraju, State Coordinator, Sri. S. Karunakar, the Treasurer, KLVS Raju, and other members, Sri. G.R.S. Prasad Rao, Sri. B. Om Prakash, Sri. Christopher, Sri. K.Jagannatha Swamy have attended.

Senior Citizens Welfare Association, Tanuku
Medical Camps: The Association has conducted weekly mobile camps, as usual, to the people who cannot move out of their houses, on 17/06, 24/06, 01/07 and 08/07/18 and a mega medical camp, at their office on 17/06/18 (3rd Sunday of the month), and tested about 200 patients. They have distributed medicines free of cost to the poor people. Dr. Hussain Ahmad and Dr. B. Venkateshwarlu conducted the tests on the patients.
Awareness Camp: The Association conducted an awareness camp on the Govt. projects for Senior Citizens at Velpuru village on 28/6/18 in which Mr. Shyam Kumar of Helpage India, A.P. & Hyd, has explained the “ Parents & Senior Citizens Welfare Act, 2007”. The programme was attended by other representatives of Helpage India, Sri. Mrinal Srikanth and Dr. Farookh Shahid along with Sri G.V. Bhaskara RAo, Sri. G. Rama Krishna Rao and few other members of the Association.
Doctors' Day Celebrated
The Association conducted a programme along with Elders Clubs International on 01/07/18 at the Association’s office at Tanuku and honoured seven reputed doctors of various specialities under the leadership of Sri. G. Keseswara Rao garu President of the Association, where in Dr. T. Ramabrahmam was the chief guest. Other members Sri. P.P. Ranga Rajan, S. Chalapathi Rao, etc. have taken active part in conducting the programme.
4.Jayanthi celebrations of late Sri. Bolla Bulli Ramaiah’s were performed under the leadership of the President of the Association. Sri. Buli Ramaiah had supported the Association by enormous donations and helped in starting the Physiotherapy centre at Tanuku under this Association.
The Association conveyed their gratitude to the Tanuku Municipal Chairperson, Sri. Rao Venkataratnam garu for granting a fund of Rs. 9.50 lakhs from the Municipal budget 2018-19, for construction of office above the library of the Associations’ building.
In appreciation of the services being rendered by the Association, Sri. Pachhipulusu Ramachandra Rao garu has donated an amount of Rs. 50,000 in support of the mobile medical camps being conducted by the Association. - G. Keseswara Rao, President
Birthday Celebrations of Senior Citizens
Naagaram Senior Citizens Association, Kapra, Hyderabad has honoured 25 senior citizens on their birthdays in July with bouquets and shawls, in co-ordination with Naagaram Serenity School Management and students. Speaking on this occasion, Smt. N. Vasanta, Gen. Secretary of the School said that senior citizens are an asset to the country, but not a loss. Sri. Gangadhara Rao, President of the Association, Secretary Sri. Chari, Correspondent of the School Sri. N. Jangi Reddy, Sri. Subba Rao and others participated.
Help to Orphans
Senior Citizens Association, Kalyanpuri, Uppal, Hyderabad has supplied food grains, 200 kg rice, 15 kg oil to the Orphanage Center as they do regularly every month.

Demise
Sri. Manohar Padmakar Bhave aged 85 years has passed away after a brief illness on 10.07.2018. He was one of the founder members of Tarnaka Welfare Association and also the Sports Secretary in the Forum for Senior Citizens Tarnaka. He was awarded State Senior Citizen Award for giving training and guidance in the sports field. A condolence meeting was arranged on 21.7.2018 in Nagarjuna Nagar Community Hall which was well attended by the members, well wishers and friends and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
The All-India Senior Citizens’ Confederation (AISCCON)
The 18th edition of AISCCON meeting is proposed to be held on 29th & 30th November in Hyderabad, at the Classical Garden near Sanjeevaiah Park, Tank Bund, Secunderabad. A preparatory committee headed by Sri. R.N. Mital consisting of the senior citizens organisations in A.P. and Telangana has been in charge of the preparations.

Sri. Prashant Reddy, a professional in I.T. firm, who established it, says the idea is “ One –stop solution for all senior care needs”. The Organisation offers comprehensive senior care with the help of 120 partners comprising hospitals, Pharmacies, diagnostic centers, house-hold care providers, and lawyers, etc. with 20 care managers including 2 women. It serves 350 families in Hyderabad and plans to expand to other Metros first. This year, they will start in Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru and in the next year in Chennai. They have invested Rs. 50-60 lakhs and will recruit about 1,300 employees in next 5 years.

Pensioners’ Adalat on 9th August, 2018
Central Tax & Customs Commissioner’s office has announced an Adalat would be conducted to allow the pensioners to discuss their problems on 9-08-2018 at 11.am. at the Conference Hall of their office, on ground floor, Posnett Bhawan, Tilak Road, Ramkoti, Hyderabad. All the pensioners concerned are requested to attend the Adalat.
A Message to Old Age Homes
The Satya Harishchandra Foundation is working with a passion to bridge the gap between the missing persons and their family members.
Daily, they receive 5-7 missing complaints and they search the missing persons in (i) Unknown dead bodies from law &order and Railway Police Station in the State of Telangana, (ii) Destitute at our Old Age Home, (iii). Unknown patients at Govt. Hospitals and (iv) Destitutes at Cherlapally and Chanchalguda prison ( Ananda Ashramam).
- We maintain a data-base collected from different police station in State of Telangana and we update the same in our website www.unknownbodies.org As many old age homes are providing shelter to unknown persons, their identity is not disclosed to outside society.
All the old age homes are hereby requested to send the photographs of present inmates at your old age homes and new admissions to Satya Harishchandra Foundation to trace out them and hand over to their relatives.
