In this session, Sonali Sharma, Country Head Advocacy & Communications, Chandra Shekar Deputy Director - Advocacy and Delhi & Chennai team and Dr. Nageswararao Rao, Aasara Vice Chairman, Narayana Rao, President LB Nagar Circle Seniors Citizens Association, Anandbagh participated.
Another ZOOM meeting on
"Legal Literacy for Senior Citizens" program is successfully
conducted with Sri.Shiv Shanker Tiwari, Advocate and Member District Committee
for Senior Citizens -Hyderabad district as speaker and 44 members have
participated from different Senior Citizens Associations of Telangana & AP
states and OldAge Homes, Hyderabad.

& cotton masks for HelpAge India Staff.
On 29th July,
a Digital Literacy Webinar was conducted by Helpage India for the benefit of
Senior Women’s Association in Tarnaka.
Karimnagar District Senior Citizens Welfare Association
On 23-06-2020, the
Karimnagar District Senior Citizens Welfare Association (KDSCA) distributed 30
Grocery Kits each worth of Rs 2,000/- to a total Rs 60,000/- to Resident Orphan
Senior Citizens at “Veera Brahmendra Swamy Old age Home in Housing Board
Colony. The Grocery Kits were sponsored by Vick’s / Procter and Gamble Company
through Help Age of India. Present in the programme are as the Chief Guests Karimnagar Commissioner of
Police Sri. Kamalahasan Reddy, and KDSCWA Honorary President Vucchidi Mohan
Reddy. President Samudraala Janardhan Rao, KDSCWA Executive Body Members and
Old age Home Organisers were also present.

GMV Prasada Rao & family offered Rs. 5,000 cash and a baby-kit worth Rs.2,000 to needy pregnant women staying in Swadhar Home in Kothgudem in Vidyanagar on June 27 in the presence of the President of the Association, Neerukonda Hanumantha Rao, Secretary, Suresh Kumar, Vice-President Kollu Nageswara Rao and the organizer Smt.Sumalatha.
Senior Citizens’ Forum, Nizamabad
1. 18.06-2020: Late Sri. M. Narayan Reddy, Senior Advocate and Ex.M.P. of Nizambad Parliamentary Constituency was a native of Sunket Village, Morthad Mandal, Nizamabad District . He was known as Pandit M. Narayan Reddy who always struggled for the welfare of farmers. A leading advocate he pleaded in the Court of Law for enhancement of compensation for the lands and houses submerged in Sreerama Sagar Project. He also convinced the Government for Rehabilitation of villages submerged. He was Chairman of Sugar Cane Growers Association of Bodhan NSF Sugar Factory. He was first parliamentarian who made a statement in Parliament for formation of separate Telangana state. The village Development Committee of Sunket village had installed his life size statue. The committee members invited to the honourable Ministers Sri. Indrakaran Reddy and Sri. V. Prashanth Reddy for inauguration.
2. The Principal
Commissioner interacted with us in the Dist welfare office, Nizamabad in a
virtual meeting on 7-7-2020. He has chalked out a programme to ascertain the
grievances if any from the district organisations. We brought to his notice the
fact though an old age home was sanctioned three years ago but there is no
progress on it..

which is long pending demand,.

places once in a year which the other
states are implementing
5. Sanction of Day Care
Centres in all Municipalities &
Municipal Commissionerate.
6. Increase of AASARA
Pension of Rs. 3,000/- and Rs 3400/- for those below and above 80 years
respectively.
7.Existing concession in
Railway Fare to Women & Men is 50 % & 40 % respectively. To make equal
concession to all up to 50%.
8. Old Age Homes run by
private agencies are not getting central govt. aid regularly.
9.‘First come first
served’ is followed by the Government.
No funds are provided to late comers whose proposals delayed by the Govt. due
to inspection and enquiry.

Masks have been distributed in the Government Hostel for Handicapped Boys subedari to all handicapped boys, students and staff in the presence of the corporator for 46th Division Gopalapuram, Sri. Suneel Kumar, Office-Superintendent of the District Welfare Department, Sri Sreenivas garu, Warden of the hostel, Sri. Veerabadhram garu and the secretary of the Association, Sri. Therala Yugandhar.

The Telangana Senior
Citizens Association supplying essential grocery items worth around Rs. 5,000
to the organizers of Jyothi Home for the orphans and the elderly for the month
of July. This distribution is taking place every month.
Nayeem Nagar, Hyderabad
A medical camp was
organised on 23rd June for senior citizens, where doctors Ms. Ravali
and Varun Kaushik examined the patients. The VP of the Assn. Sri. Narasaiah,
Yugandhar, Sambaiah and others took part in the camp organised at the local TRS
div. office, which was attended by the 46th div. Corporator Sri S. Sunil Kumar.
Ananthapuram Film Society got registered a dance-music performance “ Fighting Corona” by poet Smt. Josyula Prabha Sastry in the presence of Hon’rary president Kambaduri Shaikh Nabi Rasool, Director Rashid Basha’s team of singers, S. Krishnaveni, M. Tippeswamy, G. Mahesh Babu.
Senior Citizens Association and Butta Foundation, Kurnool: held
a memorial meeting on the passing away of Nirmalamma who ran tirelessly for long years a free old age
home in Kurnool. President Sri. Sahadeva Reddy garu, Secretary, Dr . M. Nagaraju garu and Manager, Butta
Foundation Sri. B. Rajesh garu have remembered their association with her in
her good works. Treasurer of the Association, Sri. Christopher, advisor Sri.
Paparao garu, and the inmates of the aashramam.
The Senior citizens Welfare
Association of Kurnool District, AP visited the nearby Old-age homes and organised awareness meetings
relating to Corona virus. They also distributed corona masks, sanitizers to
them, in addition to food material and fruits and ensured that there are not
any critical case of corona in them. Further, some senior doctors are ready to
extend their helping hand in case of any need.

On the Doctors’ Day, the Jamait-e-Islami Hindu organised a function in the auditorium of the Masjid to facilitate the team of the medical van as well as those who are organising the medical camp on every 3rd Sunday in the office. Namely, they are: Gadigatla Keseswara Rao, Dr. Hussain Ahmed, Dr. Vatsavayi Venktraju, Dr. Vegesni Satyanarayana Raju and Dr. Bondada Venkateswarlu. Zilla Jamait-e- Islami Hind organiser Mohammed Muneer, president of Tanuku unit Md. Alikle and other members were present.
The members of the Association observed on 9th July the birth day of one of their benefactors, late Sri. Bolla Bulliramaiah in the office, and reminded the fact that the family has altogether donated six lakhs and fifty thousands for setting up and maintaining a Physio=therapy centre by the Association. The programme is organised by vice president Sri. P.P. Rangarajan, and members Sri.Karunakar, Rajareddy, Nageswara Rao, Veera Raghavulu, Lingamurthy, Prasad, and others
Confederation of Senior Citizens Associations of Delhi
The Confederation has written on 02-07-2020 to Sh. S. N. Shrivastava, Commissioner of Delhi Police for taking remedial measure about recent murders at Safdarjung Enclave, etc. It showed that targeting senior citizens are increasing day by day.citizens at a large are worried about their safety & property. Many SCAs have complained about not visiting lonely senior citizens at their residence by beat constables regularly. J.R.Gupta, Chairperson, Confederation of Senior Citizens Associations of Delhi (an umbrella body of 18 Lakh senior citizens) has expressed his concerns and also advised all the Confederation members to be vigilant in their respective colonies and try to contact each other through Whatsapp Groups regularly.
