President’s Remarks:
We are proud to inform our residents that our Vasant Vihar is GARDEN WASTE FREE ZONE for the last one year. With great effort by VVWA and with the help of our Councillor, Shri Manish Aggarwal and Ch. Man Singh, Inspector and in charge of SDMC Nursery, we are able to achieve this target. The Manure supplied in all the parks of Vasant Vihar is from this composting only. The garden waste from the Vasant Vihar parks and trees on the roads is collected by trucks and brought to Nursery in 'A' Block to be converted to compost manure. All the twigs and trimmed wood from trees is then chipped by the Wood Chipper machine before processing into Compost. There are a total of 53 parks and 1 nursery in Vasant Vihar. All the organic and vegetation material collected during regular cleaning and maintenance of these parks is collected by trucks and taken to the SDMC Nursery for making Manure. Previously, it was not a focused activity- some manure would get made and the rest of the vegetation waste would be sent off to the sanitation landfills. But since the last one year, making compost manure is being done in earnest. And as a result of this sustained effort, there is zero garden waste that is being sent to the sanitation landfills from Vasant Vihar colony.

Protecting Members' Interests In Housing Societies

The Maharashtra Co- operative Societies Act, 1960, governs all co-operative societies with different objects, classifications and sub classifications. While the provisions of the Act regulate the management of cooperative societies and protects members' interests, co-operative housing societies due to their uniqueness face many problems and hurdles in the smooth functioning of their affairs. Co-operative Housing Societies in Maharashtra will get some relief with the proposed Ordinance of 2018 to further amend the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960 said the Hon. MLA Adv. Ashish Shelar who addressed three well-attended seminars in Bandra, Santacruz and Khar.
- While every co-operative housing society may organize education and training for its members, officers and employees, it will not be compulsory.
- Co-operative housing societies with 200 or less members will have the liberty to conduct elections to the society Managing Committee in the manner as may be prescribed. This should help avoid delays and ensure timely elections. The term of the Managing Committee being 5 years, any casual vacancy in the Committee may be filled by cooption and the term of the coopted member shall be coterminous with the term of the committee.
- Two seats to be reserved for women on the committee of each co-operative housing society.
- Till the time that members of reserved categories are not available or elected to fill in the Reserved seats on the Managing Committee, such reserved seats shall not be counted towards the strength of the Managing Committee for the composition of quorum for conducting its meetings.
- A co-operative housing society may deposit its funds in a nationalised bank in case no central cooperative bank is available in the district.
- If any officer or past officer or member or past member of the committee of a housing society fails to supply the copies of documents as provided in the relevant sections, it is an offense with a fine which may extend to twenty-five thousand rupees.

- Met the Home Minister Sri. Raajnath Singh and persuaded him to hoist the flag on 21st October at Red Fort.
- Meet the Prime Minister Sri. Naendra Modi and requested him to implement Dastur Canal Project so that the country is saved from floods and droughts, every year.
- Celebrated the Independence Day.

Problem Tackled and possible solutions :-
- Avoiding nuisance with reference to Aurobindo activity. Various individuals and RWA have written to DCP, etc. to resolve the issue . Decided that Lt Col Kashyap and Ms Neha Puri will consolidate all the points and make a common representation to the hon.PM.
- Information about LAD funds allotted to our MP , MLA and Councillor ; Details of income / Expenditure from 1.4.18 to 30.9.18 for SDA, SJE, Green Park & Extn , K& P Haus Khas Enclave and Sarvodaya Enclave. What is envisaged to be spent for 1.10.18 to 31.3.19 ? Was any of the RWA involved in the projects undertaken in the Bhagyadari scheme.
- Wards in the jurisdiction of PWD/ SDMC / Police / DDA / Election, etc. could be ascertained for ease of solutions.
- The Haus Khas Road originally was 80 feet wide why so much encroachment has taken place. Remedial measures, whom to approach ?

The annual General Body meeting for the year 2018 was held on Sunday 23rd Sept,18 in the Community Hall. President Prof. K.Venu Gopal Reddy welcomed the residents and briefed about the progress made. Sri. K.Manohar Reddy General Secretary, NNWA presented the detailed report on various activities undertaken and as well on pending issues. Sri. M.Sundara Sarma read out the audited expenditure and income statements for the year 2017-2018 and the same was approved by the body. Past presidents, advisors spoke on the occasion and complimented for the efficient work done.
Prof.T. Tirupathi Rao and Dr. Ramalingeshwar Rao conducted the elections and new executive body was formed for the year 2018-2020 following. President: Prof. K. The president of Prerana, made a representation to GHMC, Hyderabad on behalf of Street Vendors on Habsiguda-Uppal road to allot some place and to provide toilets in the area; not to seize their goods, and to give them receipt for the daily fees collected from them. Lion Sri. N. Raghurami Reddy, Sri. Satyam Goud and others of Prerana and Vendors’ representatives Sri Prakash Rao, Kishore, Yasim Ali and others took part in submitting the memorandum to GHMC.
The organisation in Habsiguda, distributed clay idols of Lord Ganesha to the public on the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi.
Prerana, Vijaya Bank Hubsiguda and Senior Citizens Association combinedly organised the tree plantation at Hubsiguda Street no 8, Smt Sirisha Manager, Er Giri Prerana, Ln Raghuramireddy, Senior citizens Asso. Rajender, Secretary Prerana, Bank staff and others were present.
Teachers Day was also observed, locally.
